Moving image…
… quite literally. This current project is a watercolor narrative, illustrated and hand cut into a stop motion animation. It begins with a personal short story about resilience, as a collection of painted stills, like the pages of a picture book, and with the right set up - lights, camera, action, and the magic begins.
In a world of quick satisfaction, AI generated realities and digital shortcuts, I find the physical craftsmanship of P R O C E S S to be imperative and luxurious. For this paper film, I build backgrounds, brushing watercolor in abstract washes along large sheets of paper, dripping water and salt to create atmosphere and unpredictable, delicious textured backdrops.
