“You make me remember human mortality in the best way possible.”
~ Excerpt from Ode to Food that is Too Spicy by Michelle Yang
The Paper Poems
The Paper Poems are in response to words; delicious, tender, aching, funny, honest words. They challenge me to find fresh and dynamic ways of connecting words and imagery onto physical paper. Each is finished and reproduced into small booklets as a series that will continue to evolve.
The list of the poems illustrated below are Ode to Food that is Too Spicy, by Michelle Yang, Italian Food, by Shel Silverstein, and This Is Just To Say, by William Carlos Williams. The Paper Poems have become a treasured practice and collection, with so many more to come.
